Coomera

Other Gold Coast:

Theme parks, very attractive

Coomera and nearby Oxenford are the centre for Gold Coast’s major theme park attractions.

Once a site for sacred initiations by Aboriginal tribes, Coomera was later an important gateway for timber cutters and the horse mail run from Brisbane to Nerang.

This is a centre for a range of attractions – to the south Warner Village Theme Parks’ Wet ‘n’ Wild, Paradise Country Aussie Farm Tour and Warner Bros Movie World and in Coomera to the north – Dreamworld with its wild rides and Australian theming.

Paradise Country’s 12 hectares offers half day tours – see stockmen, feed kangaroos or see sheep shearing.

Take a helicopter flight, head to bikeways, play golf, go cart racing or head to a winery.

Coomera is a major boat building precinct for significant exporters. Gold Coast City Marina features boat maintenance facilities for larger vessels including super yachts.

For those with less cash, there’s boat ramps and a fishing patlform where you can try your best to snare mangrove jack, flathead, bream and trevally. Watch members of the local watersports club kayak, surf boat row or sail on the Coomera River.

Oxenford to the south is the centre of the film industry on the Gold Coast.

Location: North.

Orientation: Coomera is north of Oxenford, all themed attractions easily visible and accessible off the Pacific Motorway. Coomera is 30km from Surfers Paradise.
